WRITING ARTIST STATEMENTS
Welcome! This challenge group focused on writing the four artist statements. If you’re interested in signing up for a future workshop such as this one, keep an eye out in our Facebook group and on our Discord server for the next sign-up opportunity!
General Challenge Rules
3:2:1 Rule: Three Likes and Two Comments for each One post you share in our group.
Come back to the group often to see what other people are sharing and be inspired
DO provide constructive feedback. Giving constructive feedback helps you articulate your ideas about/around art and will help you cultivate your own ideas to produce them better. It’s all great practice.
What we’ll be doing
Each week we’ll be focusing on one of the statements. You’ll spend the week working on the statements and posting them in the group for feedback.
At the end of the week, you’ll be submitting your statement to me, and I will send some notes back! Yup, we’re back in school, folks!
You can get started early by heading over to the Artist Statements Video.
NO FEAR. These can get as personal as you are willing to go.
As always, practice the 3-2-1 rule.
Rule: Three Likes and Two Comments for each One post you share in our group.
You can find my statements linked on the tutorial page.
HERE’S HOW THIS WILL WORK.
Each week beginning on Wednesday we will work on one of the Statements by the schedule below. The How and What of the statements are covered in the Artist Statements video module linked above.
Post your statements in the Facebook Group for feedback from TASA members during the week, between Wednesdays.
For each statement you post, read and provide constructive criticism on two other posts. Especially artists who have not received any peer reviews.
Each Wednesday, you can use the form below to submit your edited and refined statements to me for review using the form below. I will provide feedback directly via email.
Paste your statement in the form. Do not email them to me. Thanks. My email is already very busy. The form goes to a database that will be easier for me to keep organized.
