For artists and photographers creating and selling fine art

Find More Collectors, Sell Your Art, Create More Art, Repeat

WHY YOU CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO IGNORE THE BUSINESS OF BEING AN ARTIST ⇓

  • There are tens of thousands of new artworks created every day. This is a great sea of influence, find the direction you need with me as your guide.

  • Over $16 Billion of art is sold online each year. With my help you can navigate that ocean to find collectors with confidence.

  • Is your art selling now? If you do nothing, nothing changes… except you lose time.

What is the cost of doing nothing?

Most people think that doing nothing means more of the same… it doesn’t. In six months or a year, more of life will have gotten in the way. Your motivation and inspiration will be waning and your momentum will be lost. The biggest mistake people make is believing that they just need more time to gather momentum.

In business, good things don’t happen to people who wait. Good things happen to the proactive and the productive.

“I don’t know what to do?” Inside The Art of Selling Art are tools, tutorials, and mentorship to show you how to do the things you know you need but don’t know how to do.

“Can’t someone just do this for me?” Yes, I can help you find an art rep or gallery. But be prepared to pay them half of all your revenue and that’s if they even sell your work.

This is not a “classroom” experience. This is a continuing and evolving case-study on the business of art using my business, which earns over $150k from art and NFT sales each year, and breaks down what I’m doing so that you can do it, too.

THE LEARNING IN TASA IS DIVIDED INTO SIX SECTIONS

  • ADMINISTRATIVE

Things like structuring your business, doing taxes, paying employees, and finance to be the admin part of being a business.

  • ART FAIRS & EVENTS

There are more opportunities for showing your work than art fairs or festivals. Private art shows and co-operative events can also be a significant part of your business.

I’ll go into the details of establishing a presence, and show how I actually set up within the space to showcase my work.

  • THE BUSINESS OF ART

Included in The Business Of Art: Ordering supplies for events and shows. Setting up distribution lists. Design elements for cohesive branded look. Education.

There is a lot of overlap between The Business of Art and Marketing. However, there's enough stand alone content and detail to warrant its own category.

  • FINDING YOUR VOICE

Finding your voice, your artistic voice, is probably the most important lesson I can share with new artists.

Whether you're a photographer, painter, sculptor or glassblower, it is the first step in creating something "sellable." And by sellable, I mean recognizably YOU.

  • MARKETING

How to best reach, engage with, and stay connected to your target market & more!

  • CHALLENGE GROUPS

BRAND NEW Challenge Groups will be lead in 2023. Check back here and in our group often!

All of the content in this course is video-based. You'll learn firsthand how to break down proverbial walls that may be holding you back. You'll get an inside look into how I construct actual walls to showcase your art in the best possible light. You'll glean insights for handling the bumps every artist faces on the journey of selling art. And ultimately, you'll come away with more knowledge, tools, tricks and tips that will help you navigate your own successful journey.

In addition to the video materials, you’ll have access to our private Facebook group where I keep a close eye on the pulse of the community and answer questions on the fly. I also host weekly, Ask Me Anything, “Roundtables.” Group members include other successful artists and soon you will be among them.

I find so much value in focusing on the BUSINESS side of things. Technique is great and very important but it won’t pay the bills.

FAQ

What you need to know before joining The Art of Selling Art.

What kind of artist is The Art of Selling Art meant for?

The Art of Selling Art (TASA) at it’s core, is a small business coaching membership. I’ve geared all the content inside for visual artists because… I’m a visual artist. Generally, if you market your art by taking a photo of it, then The Art of Selling Art serves you.

Painters of all types. Photographers. 3D wall art. Mixed Media. Sculpture. Pencil and Charcoal Makers. Jewelry.

Do you guide artists through the learning process?

Yes, absolutely. I’ve created a neat, 90-Day Program for new members. It takes you through Foundations all the way to organic/earned/paid marketing on Social Media.

Is The Art of Selling Art updated frequently?

Yes, I do update things as necessary, and I add new content and tutorials throughout the year. For instance, I just uploaded a module on Grant Writing, and I’m currently Beta Testing a Pinterest Strategy that will be a module. In a few days, you will be invited to a Financial Planning For Artists webinar. It will be public and then forever available in The Art of Selling Art.

Am I available to members for mentoring and coaching?

In your first 90-days you will have 4 1-on-1 calls with me. That’s Four hours of direct mentorship and guidance in addition to unlimited support through our member groups. I make myself very available to member artists. I am frequently chatting in the FB group and each week, we have an informal coaching call via Zoom that I call “Roundtables”. I’ll say that again: weekly coaching calls. They are low-key, laid-back discussions about art.

I can also be available for 1-on-1s to member artists at a small cost depending on my availability.

Am I an actual artist and not “some guy teaching crap"?

Yes. I know what you mean when you ask this question and yes, I am a full-time artist and I have been for the past 10 years. I managed to squeeze six figures out of the market each year. In 2020, I pulled $137,000 out of the ether.

What makes TASA different from other online resources?

Great question. I’ve peeked into a few other educational resources for artists, and I can tell you that none of them carry the scope of what The Art of Selling Art covers. I cover everything from setting up your business and financial planning to Facebook ads, from Art Shows to market research.

I’m also very available to artists in the group. Weekly coaching calls is a daunting task, but I keep it up.

I also think that the members would describe me as being very down-to-earth. I am an extremely pragmatic person and I try to keep things real and I don’t put up with any BS.

Do you help artists create better art?

Yes and no. I have a module specifically for “Finding Your Voice” that I created to help you develop and stand out from the crowd.

Do I teach you how to paint? No.
Do I do portfolio reviews? Yes. Simply book a 1-on-1 with me or bring your questions to the group calls. There is also an extensive artist community that will be happy to provide you with some feedback.

How do I join The Art of Selling Art?
It begins a Discovery Call to see if you’re a good fit for the program. On that call, I’ll have the opportunity to learn about your art and art business and deliver some value that you can use today. If it seems like we vibe, I’ll share next steps for joining the program. Schedule a call below!

Are you ready to see if The Art of Selling Art is a good fit for you? Book a 45-minute discovery call with me, Jason.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

I am an artist, an author, a USAF veteran, and an educator. I’m from NYC and I’ve traveled extensively both while I was in the military (not so nice places) and for my career as a photographer (very nice places).

I began my career in art in 2011 and made the transition to full time artist in 2015. I’ve never looked back. When I started TASA it was to help a handful of friends grow their businesses through the lessons I learned along the way. Since then, it’s become a major part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now, I live in Seattle in my studio/loft where I teach my cat, Fury, new bad habits and find novel ways to reach art collectors every day.
