Started Setting Up The Giveaway
Setting up a giveaway on App Sumo is free and really easy. Here are a few tips to glance over. Above all, keep this part simple and fun.
Title: Keep the tittle simple and illustrative. There is no need to form some elaborate title of this event. The title is not important beyond that it will be what shows up in the social media posts in which you post the link to the giveaway.
Description: Pretty self explanatory- keep this simple. 99% of the people who arrive here will already know what your giveaway is about.
Sharing: Keep your description less than 180 character. This will also show in your link caption on social media and you want as much clear information to be displayed as possible. If you put too long of a description some of the text will be hidden by the length restriction depending on the platform. Quick and to the point: “I am giving away four highly limited posters to four awesome fans. Bonuses inside!”
Dates: Give yourself enough time to market and promote the giveaway and items for sale to both the people who have signed up already and the people who want to.
Timezone: I chose Pacific Time for my contest ending to ensure everyone in the US gets an equal amount of time to join.
URL: The URL you add here should be to your Sales Page.
Cover Image: Your cover image should be simple and attractive. This is what people will see on social media when they share the link. Make this a very sharable visual. Not to many, if any words.
The important item to note here is the Number of Entries you attribute to each entry opportunity. Add the most entries to the action that is most important to you. One of the main purposes of doing a giveaway is to gather the data of future potential customers. Everyone who signs up will sign up with their email, but we know already that email open rates are declining. So I chose to add another entry option for “Click on a Link”
To where does the link go? My Messenger Bot. Messenger Bot broadcasts have a 90% open rate and offer you the opportunity connect with your new potential customer directly.
I also add entries for joining me on other social media platforms. This spreads my eggs between multiple baskets just incase one of these platforms becomes unpopular in the future
INTEGRATIONS
This is how you connect your CRM to your giveaway. You will need to create a list inside your CRM then connect that list to King Sumo. All the email you collect will arrive there and you can begin an email campaign to those people. You email campaign will be informative and offer the entrants opportunities to buy your artwork during the course of the give away.
CHOSING A WINNER
At the end of your giveaway you will export all of the contestants to a CSV or excel document. You will end up with a numbered list of entrants. Then go to http://www.randomnumbergenerator.com and enter the number of contestants into the number box. Hit “Generate number) and the program will randomly choose a number within the set parameters. Go to the corresponding number on your CSV and find the winning name. Repeat this process for as many winners as you want to award.
